    The Coast Guard’s only dedicated surge force - the Reserve, is a contingency-based workforce which is trained locally and deployed globally, providing ready and responsive personnel to meet mission requirements within the prioritized focus areas of Defense Operations, Ports, Waterways, and Coastal Security, Incident Response and Management. As far as getting the whole Coast Guard experience, you don't get the same experience out of the PSU as you do in the Blue Guard. I have been through 2 deployments with PSU. Kuwait and GTMO. I like the PSU community and am saddened to be leaving and going back to the blue guard. I think to get the most out of your career, then do both.
